Driven by growing US demand and solar deals, India’s Waaree Energies surpassed 1,200 MW in Q1 orders, boosted by its Texas manufacturing facility.
Indian renewable energy firm Waaree Energies has secured an order to supply 599 megawatts (MW) of solar modules in the United States, raising its total confirmed orders in the first quarter of FY26 to over 1200MW. The latest contract was won by its American arm, Waaree Solar Americas Inc., which had earlier finalised a separate deal for 586MW.
The modules will be delivered to a prominent independent power producer (IPP) in the US. Production and supply are scheduled to commence in 2026 from Waaree’s advanced manufacturing facility in Brookshire, Texas.
Commenting on the development, Sunil Rathi, President of Waaree Solar Americas, said the agreement highlights the company’s ongoing effort to support the US transition to cleaner energy.
He emphasised that the Brookshire plant is well-equipped to serve the rising need for locally made, high-efficiency solar modules, helping partners meet sustainability targets while contributing to domestic job creation and supply chain stability.
Rathi added that the collaboration reflects a mutual commitment to scaling up the clean energy shift in the US with dependable, high-performance solar solutions. Waaree’s long-standing manufacturing experience in India provides a strong foundation for delivering reliable products tailored to evolving market needs in the US.
The company attributes its recent growth in the US to increased energy demand driven by AI-powered data centres, infrastructure upgrades, and industrial electrification.
Waaree began commercial solar module production at its Brookshire facility in January. With a global solar panel manufacturing capacity of 15GW, including 1.6GW in Texas and 1.3GW via Indosolar, the firm also operates a 1.4GW solar cell unit, with plans to expand to 5.4GW.
