The move expands Wipro’s footprint in Seoul and enhances the ability to serve South Korean clients.
Wipro has launched a new Innovation Lab in Seoul to expand its business operations in South Korea. This launch is a part of their Wipro Innovation Network (WIN).
According to Wipro, South Korea is becoming a major global innovation hub due to their leadership across semiconductors, industrial manufacturing and automotive engineering.
The company has also noticed the increasing demand from South Korean enterprises for AI‑led transformation that can scale across markets.
In parallel, the company is also partnering with leading academic institutions of South Korea to upskill talent and create opportunities for freshers to work on advanced technology and innovation programs.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony in Seoul, Vinay Firake, CEO (APMEA), Wipro, said the company is strengthening its presence in South Korea as part of its broader regional strategy. He highlighted Korea’s growing role in global innovation and Wipro’s focus on deepening local capabilities and client partnerships in the market.
“South Korea is a strategic growth market for Wipro,” he said, adding that the company aims to help enterprises translate innovation into measurable business outcomes.
The Seoul Innovation Lab will serve as a space for close collaboration with South Korean clients and ecosystem partners, enabling co‑creation, rapid experimentation, and solution development. It will also showcase Wipro Intelligence to demonstrate how AI can be applied across real‑world business scenarios.
The lab will primarily focus on technology, automotive, and industrial sectors, supporting use cases such as intelligent product engineering, software‑defined vehicles, smart manufacturing, supply‑chain optimisation and AI‑enabled operations. The lab will also help clients accelerate the deployment of their innovations.
According to Wipro, they now operate nine innovation facilities globally, including five across the APMEA (Asia Pacific, India, Middle East, and Africa) region.
Last year, Wipro acquired DTS business unit of HARMAN which integrates more than 5,000 professionals, including senior leaders across South Korea, the Americas, Europe, and India. This strengthened Wipro’s product engineering and digital transformation capabilities, with South Korea playing an important role in serving clients across Asia and globally.
