Navitas is acquiring Claros for up to $232.8 million to add IVR and VPD technology and bring power conversion closer to increasingly power-hungry AI processors.
Navitas Semiconductor plans to acquire Claros for up to $232.8 million, adding integrated voltage regulator (IVR) and vertical power delivery (VPD) technology to its GaN and SiC portfolio as AI processors push power delivery towards the xPU.
The deal targets the final stage of Navitas’s grid-to-xPU power chain: 35 kV to 800 V, 800 V to about 6 V, and then below 1 V at the processor. “Think about this acquisition as a grid all the way down to the xPU play. The destination is to do the entire power chain in three simple stages: 35 kV grid to 800 V, 800 V to 6 V (or close), then down to <1 V,” said Chris Allexandre, CEO, Navitas Semiconductor.
Navitas already uses SiC for high-voltage AC/DC conversion and solid-state transformers, and GaN for power delivery boards and DC-DC conversion in data centres. Claros adds processor-level power delivery as AI workloads create a “power wall” involving thousands of amps, fast transients and limited board space.
Claros’s IVR chip delivers 40 A at a 3:1 ratio in a 3.3 × 3.6 mm package, integrating the controller, driver, FET, inductor and capacitor without external passives. Multiple chips can operate as an array or mesh to support several-thousand-amp loads.
“Our chip does 40 A at a 3:1 ratio, integrating the digital multiphase controller, driver, FET, inductor, and capacitor in a 3.3 x 3.6 mm footprint with no passives outside of the package,” said Dan Kultran, Co-founder & CEO, Claros.
Navitas expects the acquisition to expand its stated SAM from about $4 billion to $8 billion. Claros expects a revenue ramp in 2028. The deal is expected to close by the end of Q3 or beginning of Q4 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.
