As per a report by Renewablesnow, Engie Brasil Energia SA and Audi have joined hands to install 200 electric vehicles (EV) charging stations across Brazil by 2022. The report added that the chargers will have 22 kW of power and be shock and weatherproof as per the Engie.
The report added that at the moment, Brazil has 7,500 hybrid and electric cars in circulation. It estimates that this number will reach 212,000 in 2030, with 24,000 charging stations in public places. As per the report, Engie aims to reach one million charging units globally by 2025. It may enter the Brazilian urban mobility sector in the future. This will include the rental of electric buses as well.
Invest 100 million euros
Recently, Audi said that it has invested 100 million euros for setting up EV charging infrastructure in its own sites. The report said that the company is setting up more than 4,500 charging points for battery-operated vehicles.
