AGNIT Announces Advanced Testing Lab at Indian Institute of Science (IISc)

The company also plans to enhance the facility with capabilities for military-grade semiconductor testing and validation.

AGNIT Semiconductor has recently announced the launch of a new advanced testing laboratory at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, backed by an investment of ₹3 crore.

The investment has been made with a vision of AGNIT’s plans to scale manufacturing capacity to 100K chips over the next 24 months while building critical semiconductor infrastructure within India.

 The 350 sq. ft. facility marks a significant step in strengthening India’s testing and validation ecosystem for high-power RF applications, enabling the development, qualification, and commercialisation of indigenous gallium nitride (GaN) semiconductor technologies.

Featuring advanced testing and validation infrastructure, the lab enables AGNIT to conduct in-house reliability assessments, power amplifier characterisation, PCB assembly, and product qualification. The company also plans to enhance the facility with capabilities for military-grade semiconductor testing and validation.

Backed by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and incubated at the Indian Institute of Science, AGNIT has raised a total of $7.47 million to date from investors including 3one4 Capital and Zephyr Peacock, with participation from Lakshmi Narayanan
