In a ‘Make in India’ push, Haier India bets ₹10 billion on Greater Noida expansion, creating 3500 jobs and ramping up AC production.
Haier Appliances India has recently announced a ₹10 billion investment in its Greater Noida plant over the next four years, from 2024 to 2028. This investment aims to boost the company’s production and manufacturing capacity.
The company recently unveiled a ₹2 billion injection moulding plant designed to improve the quality and flexibility of plastic component production. Additionally, Haier has invested ₹1 billion in a PCB manufacturing unit, which is expected to be operational by October 2025.

The most substantial investment, amounting to ₹7 billion, will go into a new air conditioner (AC) manufacturing facility, which will increase Haier’s annual AC production capacity by 2.5 million units, reaching 4 million units by early 2027.
This expansion will also create 3500 new jobs, effectively doubling Haier’s workforce in Greater Noida. In a report by the Economic Times, NS Satish, President of Haier Appliances India, emphasised that the launch of these new facilities highlights the company’s commitment to India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.
“Looking back at our journey since 2018, from a mere concept to steadily building the biggest Home Appliance Industrial Park in the country, I cannot help but feel a deep sense of pride. The dedication and passion of our team have made even the toughest challenges seem effortless,” stated Amit Pal, the Plant Head of Haier’s Greater Noida unit, on LinkedIn.
Manoj Kumar Singh, Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh, also attended the inauguration and expressed confidence that the facility would play a key role in boosting the state’s economic growth.
Haier India had previously signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Uttar Pradesh government in 2018 to develop an ₹30.69 billion industrial park. The company has already invested ₹14 billion in the Greater Noida facility. For the fiscal year 2024, Haier India reported revenue of ₹59 billion and aims to achieve ₹115 billion in 2025.
The company’s revenue is primarily driven by air conditioners, washing machines, and LED TVs. In addition to this expansion, Haier is exploring the possibility of opening a new manufacturing facility in South India to meet the rising demand for washing machines.
