Paving the way for a tech-driven future, India is reportedly leading the AI revolution. 84% of Indians believe that AI will create a better future, with 57% receiving formal training!
India is emerging as a global leader in artificial intelligence (AI) education, with more than 50% of its population actively pursuing self-education in AI skills, according to a recent report by Bosch’s 2025 ‘Tech Compass Survey’.
When asked how important AI skills are for their current jobs, 83% of Indians responded positively, marking the highest requirement across the globe.
The report highlighted that India is ahead of many European nations, including Germany, and even surpasses the US in terms of employer-provided AI training, with 57% of Indians receiving such opportunities. This places India at the forefront of AI readiness, a sentiment shared by 89% of survey respondents, who believe AI will be integral to future daily life.
The demand for AI skills is also skyrocketing, with 59% of Indians either self-studying AI or undertaking introductory courses. The survey acknowledged the significant role of employers in driving AI education, noting that Indian workers are benefiting from an extensive range of training programmes.
“Artificial intelligence is transforming the way we work. This year’s report emphasises on the accelerating need for AI skills at workplace and how we can harness it for greater productivity and success. At Bosch, we recognise the opportunities AI offers and are integrating it responsibly, thereby staying committed to fostering AI literacy and deployment,” noted Guruprasad Mudlapur, President of Bosch India, commenting on this trend.
The survey also revealed a strong push for formal AI education. Globally, 63% of respondents believe AI should be taught as a standalone subject in schools. In India, there is substantial support for this idea, with 60% of respondents advocating for government-led AI education initiatives. This also aligns with India’s broader ambition to prepare the next generation for a future shaped by technology.
In terms of AI’s societal impact, 84% of Indians are optimistic that technological advancements, particularly in AI, will contribute to a better world. More than 60% view AI as the most influential technology of the next decade, with many hoping it will address environmental challenges.
However, the survey also revealed concerns, particularly regarding job displacement in manual and cognitive roles, as well as ethical issues related to AI. 86% of respondents called for binding codes of conduct to ensure ethical AI usage in the corporate sector.
Bosch’s survey, which was conducted in countries including Brazil, China, France, Germany, and the US, explored global perspectives on emerging technologies and their implications.
