Teaming up to drive India’s power revolution, Navitas and Cyient Semiconductors are building a full GaN ecosystem, boosting local innovation, supply chains, and high-power technology growth.
Navitas Semiconductor and Cyient Semiconductors have entered into a long-term partnership to adopt gallium nitride (GaN) power technologies in India. The companies aim to create a complete, end-to-end ecosystem in the country, supporting high-voltage and high-power applications across several fast-growing sectors.
The collaboration will focus on co-developing GaN products, digital and mixed-signal ICs, system-level modules, and design enablement platforms. These developments will target major Indian market segments, including AI data centres, electric mobility, high-performance computing, energy grid modernisation and industrial electrification.
Both companies plan to build a strong local supply chain to align with the Indian government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative. The partnership aims to accelerate the availability of GaN components and shorten OEM development timelines by producing GaN solutions tailored to India’s specific needs.
Cyient Semiconductors will lead efforts to establish secure sourcing, local manufacturing and ecosystem support within India.
Furthermore, Navitas will contribute its existing GaNFast and GeneSiC technologies, along with new innovations developed jointly for India’s high-voltage market.
The companies say the collaboration will help Indian design houses gain easier access to advanced power semiconductor technologies, supported by local engineering expertise and streamlined procurement.
Cyient Semiconductors CEO Suman Narayan said the partnership marks a key moment for India’s ambitions in semiconductor innovation. He said combining Navitas’ proven GaN platforms with Cyient’s design and supply-chain capabilities would create a self-sustaining ecosystem for power delivery technologies.
“Our goal is to make GaN accessible to every OEM looking to design, build, and scale from India,” he said.
“I believe the growth of GaN technology in India will exceed global trends, and Cyient Semiconductors is the perfect partner for Navitas to drive this revolution,” added Navitas CEO Chris Allexandre.
