Bringing smart tech closer to home, OnePlus teams up with Optiemus to locally manufacture IoT devices in India, starting with the Bullets Wireless Z3.
OnePlus has entered a manufacturing partnership with Optiemus Electronics Ltd (OEL) to locally produce Internet of Things (IoT) devices in India. The collaboration aims to strengthen the brand’s domestic production capabilities and aligns with its broader localisation strategy under Project Starlight.
This builds on OnePlus’ existing local manufacturing of smartphones, with the brand now extending production to its IoT product range. Manufacturing is being carried out at OEL’s facility in Noida.
As a manufacturing partner, Optiemus will work to increase localisation at the bill-of-materials (BOM) level, improve supply chain resilience, and lower production costs.
The first product to be assembled under this partnership is the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z3 neckband. The device is known for offering “ultra-low latency, immersive bass, and crisp audio clarity,” according to OnePlus, and is part of its audio product portfolio that includes TWS earbuds and other wireless accessories.
Commenting on the partnership, Robin Liu, CEO of OnePlus India, said: “At OnePlus, India has always been at the heart of our journey. This collaboration is not just about technology—it is about empowering local communities.”
Ashok Gupta, Executive Chairman of Optiemus Group, added: “We come together to co-create a future shaped by innovation and excellence. We specialise in transforming ideas into reality, and this partnership empowers us to manufacture high-quality IoT products.”
