To lead its digital strategy in India, Shashank Jha joins as the new CIO and site leader for IDT&S division, Boeing, reinforcing its tech focus and expanding its global engineering footprint.
Boeing has named Shashank Jha as the new site leader for Information, Digital Technology, and Security (IDT&S) and Chief Information Officer (CIO) for its India division.
Jha will be based in Bengaluru and oversee the strategy and operations for Boeing’s IDT&S team in India, which comprises nearly 1500 employees. His responsibilities include enhancing collaboration, driving talent development, and engagement across the IDT&S site.
Furthermore, Jha will also serve as executive director for commercial product lifecycle management (PLM) products—essential tools that support Boeing’s engineering operations globally.
Lucia Chung, vice president of IDT&S and CIO for Engineering & Product Support, welcomed Jha’s appointment. “His extensive experience in digital transformation and engineering systems will be vital in driving innovation and operational excellence at Boeing,” she said.
With over 20 years of experience, Jha brings expertise in IT leadership, enterprise systems, product engineering, and cybersecurity. Before joining Boeing, he led Dover India’s Global Capability Centre (GCC), managing IT functions across India and China.
His earlier roles include senior leadership positions at GE, Honeywell, and Bosch, where he focused on product lifecycle management (PLM), engineering tools, and digital solutions. He will collaborate closely with Boeing’s global business partners and engineering support teams.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Jha said, “India is a vital hub in Boeing’s global engineering and digital network. I am excited to work with the talented teams here to foster innovation and help shape Boeing’s future.”
Boeing continues to expand in India, investing in advanced technologies, local supply chains, and academic partnerships. With over 300 local suppliers and $1.25 billion in annual sourcing, it employs nearly 7000 people. Its community initiatives impact over 1.5 million beneficiaries across the country.
