Powering India’s EV infrastructure, V-GREEN teams with HPCL to roll out nationwide charging, aiming to boost convenience and reduce range anxiety.
Vietnam-based charging infrastructure company V-GREEN has entered a strategic partnership with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to expand electric vehicle (EV) charging facilities across India.
The agreement will see V-GREEN set up charging stations at HPCL’s network of fuel retail outlets.
HPCL has more than 24,400 retail outlets nationwide, making it a critical partner in accelerating the availability of charging across the country. The company already operates over 5,300 charging stations under the HP e-Charge brand, along with more than 150 battery swapping facilities.
The latest collaboration is expected to widen accessibility, reduce range anxiety, and encourage faster EV adoption.
V-GREEN is backed by Vietnamese billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong, who also founded VinFast, Vietnam’s electric vehicle manufacturer. The charging firm manages around 150,000 charging ports in Vietnam and has begun expanding its presence across Southeast Asia, including Indonesia and the Philippines. India now forms a significant part of its global expansion strategy.
The tie-up aligns closely with India’s broader push towards cleaner transportation. As the world’s third-largest automotive market, India represents an opportunity for EV infrastructure investment. Increased charging availability is seen as essential to support both domestic EV players and new international entrants.
Under the partnership, charging facilities will be rolled out at selected HPCL locations across multiple regions in India. The initiative aims to provide greater convenience to EV users while reinforcing long-term support systems, including service and charging reliability.
HPCL, a Maharatna public sector enterprise, has been diversifying into alternative and renewable energy, complementing its core oil and gas operations. For V-GREEN, the move is part of a larger plan linked to VinFast’s India ambitions, which include developing a complete EV ecosystem encompassing manufacturing, charging, after-sales services, and battery recycling.
V-GREEN says it aims to contribute to global green infrastructure, promoting wider access to sustainable transportation solutions.
