Top 10 T&M brands available in India

The test and measurement (T&M) industry in India continues to grow, and is expected to achieve a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 30 per cent over the next five years. Owing to the growth in sectors like power, automobiles, electronics, pharmaceuticals, medical sciences, telecommunications hardware, defence and other government sectors, industry experts estimate the T&M instruments market to touch Rs 1 billion in the near future. The growing domestic demand for electronic products has also led to an increase in the number of manufacturers (both domestic and MNCs) in the T&M space. Electronics Bazaar has attempted to rank the Top 10 T&M manufacturers in India on the basis of their revenues for the FY 2010-11, which were verified from the website of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), Government of India. Unfortunately, as none of the companies, barring a few, have filed their current revenues with the MCA, we had to rank them based on the previous year’s turnover. Despite procuring the balance sheets, some major MNCs did not wish to publish their turnovers and declined to participate in this feature. Also, some major companies could not be included in the ranking as they declined to share their revenue figures with us, nor could we procure their balance sheets from the MCA website. The revenues of all the companies reflect their INR (`) billing only. The revenues of all the companies except Megger and Tektronix are their consolidated revenues of different business including T&M. However, T&M is their major business. While this survey is by no means comprehensive, it does provide a glimpse into many of India’s key T&M instruments manufacturers.
