The new plant will produce smart TVs and LED monitors, smart accessories, washing machine and other electronics product. Its first shipment of 650 TV, has been dispatched to Dubai.
Elista, part of the Dubai-based TeknoDome Group, has commissioned a new consumer electronics manufacturing facility in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, with an investment of ₹2.50 billion. The plant is fully operational and spans 132,000 sq. ft.
Phase one manufacturing covers one million smart televisions and one million LED monitors. A second phase will extend output to washing machines, dishwashers and smart accessories. The unit currently employs about 200 staff, with recruitment expected to increase as volumes rise.
The first shipment from the site was dispatched, comprising 650 smart televisions valued at approximately ₹255,000. The consignment was exported to Dubai under the India–Dubai Free Trade Agreement. The plant’s location, close to Chennai and Visakhapatnam ports, provides logistical advantages, reducing shipping time to Dubai to five days.
Saket Gaurav, Chairman and Managing Director of Elista, said the new site marked “a shift from dependence on imports to building manufacturing scale in India.” He added that the Kadapa plant “provides a platform to expand exports while meeting domestic demand.”
The facility includes automated assembly lines, robotics, and integrated quality assurance systems. Environmental features such as rainwater harvesting and solar installations have also been incorporated.
According to the company, the Kadapa plant will support both domestic demand and supply to more than 18 export markets. It also provides R&D on localisation features, including a smart TV interface that recommends regional applications and content.
“Kadapa is the start of a broader plan to add more facilities across the country as production volumes rise,” Gaurav said.
