Inaugurating its facility in September 2024, RRP Electronics takes one step further, partnering with global firms like US-based Deca, for a ₹240 billion fab and ₹120.35 billion OSAT unit.
RRP Electronics, a semiconductor packaging company, has revealed plans to establish a semiconductor fabrication (fab) plant worth ₹240 billion and an outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) facility valued at ₹120.35 billion in Maharashtra.
This initiative is being developed with global firms HMT Zurich, AMB Taiwan, and US-based Deca Technologies. The Maharashtra government is also providing support for the project.
Prior to this expansion, the Sachin Tendulkar-backed company had inaugurated a facility with advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment in September 2024. This Navi Mumbai unit had received financial assistance from the Maharashtra government and Sachin Tendulkar.

Now, RRP Electronics has entered into a technology transfer licence agreement (TTLA) with Deca Technologies, a fellow player in advanced semiconductor packaging. Deca Technologies is backed by some of the biggest names in the industry, including Qualcomm, Infineon, and the ASE Group.
The company aims to complete its qualification tests by August 2025 and projects its revenue will surpass ₹2.6 billion in its second year of operation. This follows plans first revealed in September 2024.
Currently, RRP Electronics is engaged in a high-profile project for a Swiss client, focused on the production of advanced ASICs in QFN packages.
Rajendra K Chodankar, Chairperson and CEO of RRP Electronics, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, noting that the partnership with Deca Technologies and other global players would drive semiconductor packaging in India to new heights. He further forecasted substantial growth, with revenue expected to exceed US$30 million (approximately ₹2.6 billion) by the end of the second operational year.
The company’s OSAT facility, inaugurated in September 2024, is anticipated to generate around 4,000 new jobs. The company hopes that this venture will make a significant impact on the Indian semiconductor industry, strengthening both domestic and international supply chains.
