Near Noida Airport, a vast 40-hectare site given by YEIDA, is set to become a bustling EV manufacturing hub, attracting over 150 companies and boosting regional industry growth.
The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has allotted 40.47 hectares (100 acres) to the Electric Vehicle Manufacturing Welfare Trust (EVMWT) to establish an electric vehicle (EV) production hub near Noida International Airport, reports confirmed on Thursday.
According to Hindustan Times, the land will be used to create a dedicated cluster for producing EV autorickshaws and two-wheelers, as well as related components.
YEIDA has issued a letter of intent (LoI), with final allotment subject to clearance from the Invest UP Empowered Committee and compliance with state policies.
The project will be located in Sector 8, where land acquisition is already underway. According to YEIDA CEO Arun Vir Singh, over 150 manufacturers associated with EVMWT plan to set up operations within the cluster. The initiative is expected to boost the local manufacturing sector significantly.
Separately, a startup producing EV batteries for brands like Royal Enfield will receive 1 hectare (10,000 square metres) in the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster-2 (EMC-2) located in Sector 10.
This 83.41-hectare (206 acres) site has already attracted several key players, including Havells, which holds 20.23 hectares (50 acres) as the anchor unit.
In addition, Neenjas Electric, a Noida-based startup, has received a LoI to set up a plant for EV chargers, LED panels, and solar-powered devices. Dixon Technologies also secured 9.11 hectares (22.5 acres) last week to manufacture mobile phones and consumer electronics.
Two other firms—Ascent-K Circuit and Aurionpro Toshi Automatic Systems—have been approved to operate under the central government’s electronics scheme.
The EMC-2 project received formal approval from Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Minister of State Jitin Prasada, following a review by the Ministry of Electronics and IT in April. Land acquisition in Sector 10 is still in progress.
